Garden Angels

Children's Memorial Garden, April 12th

Last fall, many of our Garden Angels zealously pulled out a massive amount of weeds that were strangling the beautiful plants in the Children's Memorial Garden at the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center. It is located in the center of the Welwyn Preserve, in Glen Cove, which is a magnificent Nassau Country property of over 200 acres.

We knew that the weeds would return if the beds were not mulched. So, twenty three of us, determined to keep the weeds controlled, labored with all our might, on a beautiful Saturday morning in the middle of April. After all that hard work, you could step back and see the difference. How gratifying to see the perennial beds looking so beautiful!
