LIHS Blog

In order to participate in LIHS's blog, you must be a member of the Long Island Horticultural Society. If you are not a member and would like to join, please fill out a membership application.

REGISTER: If you are an LIHS member and would like to participate in our blog, you must create an account on the Wordpress website's signup page. At the bottom of the screen, be sure to check off "Just a username, please." (Otherwise, you will be creating your own blog rather than joining ours.)

Once you have registerd on the WordPress site, e-mail me to let me know that you have done so. At that point, I will give you rights to create messages.

NOW THAT YOU HAVE CREATED AN ACCOUNT:
Read messages that have been posted: Open your Internet browser and go to http://www.lihort.wordpress.com.

Attach a comment to a message that you see on the blog site: On the left side of the LIHORT blog (http://www.lihort.wordpress.com), click on the "wordpress.com" link on the left side of the page. Sign in with your username and password. Under the message to which you would like to make a comment, click on "leave a comment." At the bottom of the screen in the "Your comment" box, type in your comment to the chosen post. At the bottom of the page, click on "Say it." All comments must be approved by the LIHS webmaster. This assures that all comments are appropriate.

Post a new message: Log in to the Wordpress website. (If you are already at LIHORT's blog site, click on the wordpress.com link on the left side of the screen.) Log in with your username and password. Toward the left of the next screen, you will see "Your blogs: lihort." Click on "lihort." At the top of the next screen, click on the"Write a new post" button. On that screen, give your post a title and then type your message. Toward the bottom of the screen, click on "All categories," and choose the one that is most appropriate for your message. At the top right side of the screen, click on "publish." Now everyone who visits the blog will be able to read your message.

When you are finished, please log out by clicking on "My Account" at the top left of the screen, and then on "Log Out".
