Friday, Apr. 10 Hidden Oak Cafe Luncheon in the Mansion's Library, followed by a Daffodils Stroll at Bayard Cutting Arboretum, Great River, No Tour, Group size: 20 Fee: $34.95 including tax & tip
Wednesday, April 22 Clark Botanic Garden , Albertson
Saturday, May 16, Old Westbury Gardens , House & Gardens Tour. Old Westbury, NY Group size: 30, Fee: $14. Do buy beverages and snacks at the Cafe in the Woods but you MUST bring your own lunch as they are not staffed to accommodate 20-30 LIHS members in addition to serving the public.
Thursday, June 18 Education Department in the Coe's former Laundry Bldg. Planting Fields Arboretum, Guided tour Cost Free
Thursday June 25 Rexer Family Farm Tour, BYO Lunch, followed by a stop at Gardiner Farm Barn, Huntington Group size: 25, Fee: $8.00
Satuday July 11 Long Island Horticultural Research & Extension Center/LIHREC/ Cornell University Open House, Riverhead, farm tour in an open-air farm truck, flower arranging demonstration, plant sales, flower garden, Group size 20 Free
Wednesday in August, exact date to be determined, East Meadow Farm Tour shall be provided by one of our very own LI Hort. Scholarship winners, East Meadow Farm is home base to Nassau County Master Gardeners Group size: 20 Free
Thurs. Sept. 10 Nassau's Youngs Farm, Old Brookville, Meet-Up Group size: 15 Free
October exact date to be determined, Bailey Arboretum, Locust Valley, Arboretum stroll, BYO lunch, Group size: 20 Fee $10

GUIDELINES FOR DAY TRIP PARTICIPANTS
The Day Trip committee has offered many trips since August 2025 and have many more scheduled the for upcoming months. In order to streamline the process and ensure member participation and satisfaction, we have developed the below guidelines. All will be updated as needed, so please check the LIHORT website, www.lihort.org go to link for Local and International Trips which also includes trip calendar.
GUIDELINES FOR DAY TRIP PARTICIPANTS
These guidelines have been designed to facilitate the planning, sign-up process, and conducting of trips, for the benefit of both the Organizers and the Attendees. It should promote education, enjoyment and safety for all and cooperation with venues.
1) Day Trips will be announced at Meetings, on the LIHS Website, in the Newsletter, on LIHORT Facebook, and in an email “Blast” to members.
2) There will be a Sign-Up Sheet at the Members’ Meeting, along with a Wait List if all spaces are filled.
3) Only LIHS Members in good standing/ currently paid dues may sign up for day trips.
4) A Confirmation Email will be sent to each participant upon payment of trip fee, which must be paid by stated deadline. If no fee, a confirmation will be sent after registration is complete. It is strongly requested that all fees be paid in person at Members’ Meetings unless directed otherwise.
5) All correspondences about day trips will be via email – there will be no phone calls. The email address for all day trip communications is hortdaytrips@gmail.com unless otherwise indicated.
6) It is each participant’s responsibility to check emails regularly for updated information about weather, changes, cancellations, etc. If you do not have email, please arrange with a fellow member to receive the emails and pass the information along to you.
7) Please read trip Instructions carefully and send any questions via email to hortdaytrips@gmail.com or otherwise indicated email.
8) Participation in trips will be strictly limited to those who have signed up and received confirmation – no spouses, drivers, or others unless registered!
9) Be sure to wear sturdy, low-heeled, preferably closed shoes. Walking paths are often hilly, damp or uneven.
10) A trip Reminder Email will be sent one week before the trip date.
11) Cancelations must be made one week before trip date to receive refund. No-shows will not receive refund. If you must cancel, please do so as soon as possible so the space can be offered to a person on wait list.
12) If Tipping is appropriate, this amount will be included in the trip cost. Organizer will contact each venue in advance to inquire about tipping policy.

Trips open to LI Hort Members, to become a member visit the Membership page
Garden Tour to the Lake District in England. The dates are June 25 to July 3 2026. The Lake District is England’s largest National Park and UNESCO World Heritage Site. Spectacular landscapes, picturesque villages, award-winning gardens and a mix of hidden gems.
